6. Mark Ronson and Amy Winehouse, Really fun song. The rumour is that when they filmed the video, Ms. Winehouse was M.I.A. So they had to improvise. I predict many remixes and mashups.
5. The Go! Team, Second appearance by them in the Pix. I love their energy and they seem awesome live. The video has that grafitti / get up and dance vibe that they do so well.
4. Ride, This was my favourite album when I was sixteen. I just saw Eric’s Trip recently and I’ve been dipping back into that grade ten through twelve vault. Good times. Bad hair. Lots of shoegazing. I’ll try not to put any Jesus Jones on next week’s list.
3. Shout Out Louds, With a video clocked in at just under 7 minutes, you’d expect g’n'r style theatrics. But this plays out like a european 80’s movie wth no need for subtitles. Also, I love running in graveyards in music videos…more bands should do it.
2. Feist, I know. The Ipod ad. Enough already. So when she appeared on Letterman, she mixed it up a bit. It’s an Arts and Crafts All Star Team. Again, Letterman called a Canadian artist “Acclaimed” (see New Pornographers). It’s still a great pop song.
1. Les Savy Fav, The video is boderline retarded, but I can’t look away. The single however, kicks my ass. Hope the album is good too, I’ve had far too many flavour of the months lately.
